Before you begin using your candle making supplies, always have a (chemical type) fire
extinguisher nearby and remember that water should never be used to extinguish a wax fire;
because it will only cause the fire the spread. With candle making supplies, baking soda,
sand or flour can be used if a fire extinguisher is not available. If the wax from your
candle making supplies should ever ignite then you should, turn off the heat, but do not move
the pan, simply smother the fire with the extinguisher, baking soda, sand, or flour and cover
with a metal lid or damp cloth. Don’t disturb the pan until it has cooled and although fun,
using candle making equipment unsafely can be dangerous. |
